When Should I Send In My Paperwork?

Now!

Your 2021 Tax Return will include income for the entire 2021 tax year. This lasts from 6 April 2020 to 5 April 2021. At Maximoor, we recommend sending in the paperwork that you do have now. This allows us to start working on tax returns before the tax year ends and then fill in the blanks before we make any submissions. If you are not sure what we need, read over the next section.

What Paperwork Do I Need?

The reason we need your paperwork is to understand exactly how much income you earned over the year.

  • For those of you that are self-employed, we are looking for an Annual Statement from your contractor or Wage-slips or your Bank Statements.

  • For those of you that are employed under PAYE, we are looking for P60s or Payslips.

If you haven’t got everything, don’t worry! We can work with you to make sure the information is correct. We will also happily contact your previous contractors or employers to get additional information to save you the hassle.

If you keep receipts, these should be included. They help us create an accurate picture of your work-related expenses.

Fill in a form here to request a pack. This will include a reply-paid envelope to send us your paperwork at no cost to you.

How Much Can I Expect?

At Maximoor we pride ourselves on getting the best possible tax refunds for all of our clients. On average, our CIS clients take home over £2,550 from HMRC. Due to the various finanical relief packages created by the government in recent times, some of our clients may see a change in their usual repayments.

For our self-employed clients, many were eligible for the SEISS grants. These were taxable and may reduce repayments. Those who worked throughout the year and did not take any grants will not be affected.

For our employed clients who were furloughed, your repayments may be lower if you did not need to spend money on employment related expenses. Those who worked throughout the year and were not placed on furlough will not be affected.

When Will I Get My Tax Refund?

Every year we operate on a “first come, first serve” basis so get your paperwork in now to be front of the queue in April.

What If HMRC Have Questions About My Returns?

At Maximoor, we offer free year round support. Once you submit your 2021 tax return with us, you can expect all communication with HMRC to be dealt with by us.
